ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team will travel to Henderson State on Saturday, September 19th. The teams will see a 6 p.m. kickoff at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.
The Boll Weevils head into week three, following a tough offensive battle against the Tigers of East Central, where they dropped the contest 42-37. Henderson State enters the matchup with a 2-0 record, defeating Southern Nazarene, 57-21, and Oklahoma Baptist, 66-9.
Head Coach Gary Goff had this to say in preparation for the contest: “We have had a great week of practice so far, and once again, I’m looking forward to watching our guys compete against a very good football team Saturday night.”

LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost to Henderson State during the 2025 season, dropping the game 18-48 at home. The Boll Weevils tabbed 285 yards of total offense, recording two rushing touchdowns in that contest. Tavion Faulk led the air attack, connecting with 16-32 attempts for 219 yards. Faulk’s leading receiver was Jaylen Sulton, who had 75 yards on 2 receptions with 1 touchdown. Sulton also led the team on the ground, rushing for a net of 21 yards in the contest, with a long of 11 yards.
All-TIME SERIES
Since the first meeting in 1914, UAM trails HSU in the all-time series, 34-54. The Boll Weevils have come out victorious three times since the beginning of the 21st century, with the 24-17 victory on the road in 2018 being the most recent. The Boll Weevils are 17-27 at home against the Reddies, with the last victory in Monticello coming in 2000 with a final score of 46-14. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the 1957 season with a 43-0 shutout. The Weevils have scored 1,406 total points against HSU, averaging 15.6 points per game.
PRE-GAME NOTES
The Boll Weevils are currently sitting 0-2, following a tough road loss to East Central in week 2. Monticello sits 5th in the GAC in scoring and 10th in total offense, averaging 24.5 points per contest and 323 yards of offense per game. The Boll Weevils rank 10th in the conference in rushing, averaging 102 yards per contest. Defensively, UAM ranks seventh in total defense, surrendering 405 yards per game, and eighth in scoring defense, allowing 31.5 points per game. Offensively, running back Dave Alston leads the running game, averaging 73.5 yards a contest. Michael Lott and Drew Dronet are the top targets in the receiving game for UAM, with Lott totaling 190 yards on 13 receptions and Dronet totaling 85 yards on six receptions.
